Tripod owner/user here as well. :fistbump: The guys on my Benz forum razz me about that stuff mercilessly. I'm just tired of looking at nothing but laundry on the thrift thread. I've been pushing for guys to take shots of themselves in their finds and AF was the first to jump in the pool. I would imagine that he's scouring the hardgoods sections of the thrifts as we speak, in search of a tripod to thrift. I got my lightweight aluminum model for $5.He'll be along with one soon, I expect.

The jacket looks a little big overall. The body looks to long, the sleeves look too long, and it looks like there is too much fabric at the shoulder blades.

Overall, the jacket looks a little big. It looks too long in the body and sleeves, and it looks like there is too much fabric at the shoulder blades. Also, you need to press the pants... but I guess you knew that. [IMG]

I don't think the structured and roped shoulder is working for you.

    Hey mate

    Looking sharp as always!

Is it me or is there a promising shift back to simplicity in this here thread; one which allows a focus on the fit / quality of the garments?

Re-limited rotation: I'm in the same boat, having sold off all my Herringbone and other suits and jackets to allow for more from P Johnson. Currently, I have three P J suits, each with a pair of spare trousers, and am waiting on number four: a blazer suit in navy worsted. I intend to add a solid dark gray suit, a navy pin or chalk stripe suit and some trousers in shades of cream, mustard and tan to the rotation before this year is up. I agree, however, that as long as you have sufficient accessories to play around with, you won't be in strife.

    Good advice, FC. Thank you.

I generally do "edges out" when wearing a PS with hand-rolled edges but "edges in" when edges are machine stitched. Is that an worthwhile rule of thumb?

I generally show very little of a PS when it is mostly unadorned linen or cotton, but I tugged my most recent one up to reveal its glorious plaid-ness.

I generally angle my PS upward toward my left shoulder, as you advise, but it usually settles itself in the other direction within an hour or so.

What's so tricky about the triangle fold? I assume you're talking about its application, not its execution?

My last two evenings outings have proved a great study in contrasts - Tuesday night, the Met Museum's "The Steins Collect" was a show of early 20th century masterpieces, visited by a crowd mostly ancient and dull, whereas last night's Whitney Biennial was a show of execrable contemporary art, visited by the most lively and interesting-looking crowd imaginable.

This evening marks the end of my cultural week - the revival of "Anything Goes" at the Roundabout. As a curative for all this mental stimulation, I may spend the weekend watching NASCAR on ESPN2 and eating pork rinds :satisfied:.
