I would give it to you, but it is Friday and that means tonight she will be busy cleaning my bathroom and preparing my bubble bath and decanting my wine for when I return home from the bar.

You should reward her with a brief act of love. If you're not too tired, of course.

Fret not, I bat for the other team, and I'll be as interested in Tuesday's Met Museum reception for the exhibit on the Steins (Gertrude and Leo) and their collections (Gertrude collected Picasso, Leo collected Matisse) as I was with Cindy Sherman. The Whitney Biennial party Wednesday, I'm going more for the people-watching than the art - Williamsburg will be a ghost town during the event, and the art usually veers strongly in the direction of WTF.

There are a lot of great things coming up it seems. Did you check out the maurizio cattelan at the Guggenheim? I was actually at the Whitney for the first time about 3 months ago. All I could say was, "meh". I did go to the Morgan Library recently and really enjoyed it. The Rumi poems were fantastic.

I didn't see the Cattelan - unfortunately, I don't give quite enough money to the Guggenheim for them to invite me to the good parties, though I should check out their next offering, which was mentioned in today's NYT arts and leisure section.

The Whitney has always been viewed as a "meh" institution, IMHO.

The Morgan Library, on the other hand, does very interesting exhibits, if normally constrained by material (works of art on paper). The drawings from the Louvre which they had at the same time as the Islamic miniatures were superb (and the book arts of the Safavid dynasty were fantastic as you noted).

I think it's a Loro Piana. Should be good for spring / summer but not the worst of HK's humid days of May to July.

I'm trying this one again. I knew I'd be doing some degree of manual labor so if something happens to it, it's not a great loss. I kind of like the slightly over sized lapels.

    Oops. Missed the PS.
