^ Hard to tell from the pics, but not bad.
Sup with your shoulders man?
LOL i have the same issue with a suit. What has to be done?
Shoulder alteration is quite pricy.
Phat guido, where is he?
I believe that he already has a money clip.
Bottega Veneta making binder clips now, too?
DEETS ON SC?
Saw Breakfast at Tiffany's today and was impressed with the late 50s stylishness of it all- thin ties and sacks; AH and her wardrobe. Hard to imagine a mainstream movie even today with a George Peppard man-ho in the lead.
Warm here, and warm end of the spectrum in cottons, linens, silk. Orange is something I like in moderation; especially with cream.
Got this SC yesterday. Wish I had some knit ties to go with it...
Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
I'm not quite sure on exactly what you're trying to get at here. But if it is what I think it is, with all respect I feel sorry for you.
Excuse the delayed response, I had no access to a computer for days.
I admit I am very confused. This outfit is not meant to be perceived as retro. What I attempt to do is to achieve completeness in a look. That means, on the rare occasions when I wear a suit, I almost always wear a pocket handkerchief, a boutonierre, links, and sometimes I add a pocket watch and a hat.
When you suggest a different shirt might be "stronger", do you mean that it would be more appropriate for the vintage vibe of the rest of the outfit, or do you mean the combination as such is very busy due to the checked shirt being matched with a spotted tie and a pin dot handkerchief?
In any case, I wish my outfit would receive more comments. I know very well this is not the exact purpose of this W.A.Y.W.R.N., and I am not seeking a critique, but really, discussion based on posted outfits keeps this thread going. If new posters such as myself are not given insight, why should they keep posting (unless ignoring us is meant to drive us away, which is probable)? With old members gone, who will keep this thread running? It is obvious that the number of consistent-well-dressed posters will continue to decrease. Do others not care about new sources of possible inspiration? I take it my outfit was rather unremarkable, yet I am repeatedly suprised when outfits far inferior to mine receive countless comments, sometimes snarky, sometimes laudatory. I would rather be ridiculed than ignored.
Then again, I am no one.
More expensive than Vicuna.
You're not going for a throwback look but you wear a pocket watch, which went out of mainstream use in the 40's, a hat, which began its decline in the 60's, and a boutonierre, which are generally only seen at galas and proms? I'm not going for a retro either but when I do get dressed up I wear my bell bottoms and leather vest. Nomsayin?
Separate names with a comma.
