i like the shoes. imo, they cry out too loud in this set up.
O/O, I found some under shorts in case your current don't match your tie for that particular fit:
Thanks fritzl. What would you wear instead? The pants are a charcoal wool with a slight pattern in the weave.
My bad. The pants are navy. Thinking of something else.
Rather than specifics, a couple of general points. Firstly, the persistent lean in all the photos is really distracting and negatively affects the overall impression generated (sorry, I just had to get that out there). Perhaps more constructively/helpfully, I don't think any of your outfits remotely qualify for a "VERY conservative office". If your office is genuinely a very conservative place, try adopting more subdued colours and patterns, with fewer directional choices in the styling details.
I'll try not to reply to every post, but wanted to thank you for the tip on 'the lean' and explain my work place description. Which, in retrospect, wasn't a very good description at all. I completely push the envelope here. My daily attire is a topic of discussion every single day. Not negatively very often, but occasionally. As an example of the mindset, I couldn't wear a pocket square without most people thinking I'd taken it 'too far'. I am looking for the objective eye on how to 'tighten it up', so thanks for the reply!
I agree with HF, none of these are truly conservative. The closest one is the grey suit which has rather narrow lapels, however. A few quick reactions:
(i) try the blue shirt - brown tie combo with a navy suit and black Oxford shoes for a subdued outfit;
(ii) look for a thread called CBD and check out some recent fits from the poster Gdl, he knows his stuff;
(iii) lighter pants / darker jacket usually works better than the other way around; and
(iv) your tan jacket looks way too long.
Nerestro - what type of pocket square fold is that? It looks sharp without being overbearing like a 4 point. Do you happen to have a link on how to fold it? Thanks!
Spoiler: And now without the arm in the way...
You're looking good today TB. Real beauty of a knot and it fits that collar like it belongs there, and the collar fits like it was made for you.
even if it was praised everyday... that's not a good thing
I don't think that's a judgment you can make knowing nothing about his job or position...
