o/o - i think darker flannel gray pants would have worked better.

banis - love the solaro - and i also do think thats the perfect shoe to wear it with. i think the tie on the charcoal suit is a bit too jarring though. nice tie nonetheless, but probably better for a blue (worsted navy, seersucker, blue fresco etc) suit.

No, it isn't a look you either like or despise. That's too simple, and an easy way to brush off criticism and not learn anything. It is a good look on some people, bad on others. Hell, in that collection, I have found some pieces look great on me, and some like shit. That jacket falls into the latter category for you.

    Thanks!
I find those shoes and another ones posted previously to be the best with the solaro. Firstly, it was quite difficult to choose what exactly shoes to wear with this cloth.
The tie is raw silk iirc and is more summery, so you are probably right that it woukd better look with more summery fabrics, nii.

goddamit ed...i should just save myself time and buy everything you make when it first comes out instead of dithering around about it.

    Yes, you probably should! :D

I was just telling Ed in the soporific tie porn thread that this is my current 'favorite tie'. It's lovely.

I wouldn't have thought this would work but I like it.

I really want to start experimenting with Bow Ties but I think the people at work would have a coronary...

I really like the tie, it is marinella or drakes and would you mind sharing where you got it? Thanks.

I wear it because I like it. I posted it up several times last year too. I know the general consensus regarding this SC. I am not brushing of criticism, just saying that regarding this SC, I am not really looking for it. I do respect your opinion, however, even if ours differ on this particular item.
