You guys would like this...I have a kid in my eighth grade who used to live in Michigan, and she wears a Michigan State sweatshirt once in a while, to which I always chant, "If you can't go to college go to State!"...:D

Karl Hageland, first NHL goal last night.

Doesn't make sense to me. Do you really think that one should wear black shoes with cream gabardine trousers, or white linen, or light gray flannels - all of them are monochromatic colors. When would brown shoes be correct, then?

    hmm...
i'm sure you are making the joke with the best intentions ...
but coming from a teacher, i don't know if that's something appropriate to say to a young and impressionable student

What he is saying is ultra traditional and conservative, but it is true.

a snapshot showing everything at once (except for the white linen ps)
dressed up a bit for church this morning
grabbed the jacket because it's the lightest one i have ... it was over 83 degrees in los angeles today
    :slayer:

i think the jacket's color doesn't really work for me though
it's a very old man color combo
so i will be retiring it

Jesus, really man? Thats the problem with education today...everything is so over sensitized. Its a joke, she knows its a joke. I even explained the context of the joke to her, to which she responded that she knew. Sorry for blowin' up Romeo, but really?

you didn't explain any of that to us here
so how can we know whether you just throw that out there leaving the young girl bewildered and perhaps ashamed of wearing the sweater
or if she's laughing along because she knows what's up

Not nice Rob. I can take the jokes about MSU but I will say it was a great choice for me and is for many kids from Michigan and around the world. And...we even get to play for the Big Ten title in football every once in awhile. As a fellow Ranger fan, I'll give you a break this one time. :) And by the way, I saw a play in the Cornell-BU game in MSG Saturday that I've never seen in over 50 years of playing and watching hockey. Hope you saw it or a replay.

Can someone please photoshop black pants and shoes on my fit to show him what a tragedy it would be?

But you, and every body else who has no clue what it takes to be an educator, or to GET to kids, automatically assumed the worst. No one else gets to hear shit about how "this or that" is appropriate or inappropriate in their line of work, unless it is sartorial. Everybody's a fucking expert in my field though...

you should teach university then. Jokes, cursing in class, fantastic. I don't have the self-control for anything else...

edit: But I agree. The best teachers I had in grade and high school were the typically the most inappropriate. They also tended to take risks when teaching us, which almost always ended up pushing us farther. So romeo, lay off.
