I think SF members overestimate the level to which the general public is attuned to clothes. I attended a funeral last week and beforehand agonized over whether I should wear a plain white ps or not one at all. When I got there, I realized that by not wearing sneakers or a fleece and refraining from chewing gum all through the Mass, I was the most elegant gentleman in attendance. This was not a trashy family by any stretch, BTW. :embar:

I'd wear the pocket square knowing that I shouldn't.

You have too many gimmicks going on. A contrast collar/cuff shirt that is too tight with a border around the collar, collar pin, striped tie that is tied with a large knot, way too large ofr the collar. Cannot see much of the rest, but pretty much everything is wrong with the shirt.

And now for a question about suspenders:
I've owned these Thurston suspenders for a couple of years now and only just recently discovered that they show through my suit jacket.

I own several pairs of Brooks Brothers suspenders that don't do this because the yoke on them is located much lower, where it tucks into the small of my back.
Is the high yoke a British thing, or did I just get a pair of ill-fitting suspenders?[/quote]

I don't know how tall you are, but I had the same problem.
You will have to either shorten the elastic bit and/or move the trouserbuttons down, which is what SH did on mine.

Thurston will also size the suspenders for a bit extra, just email them before buying.

    Fit critique?

Some questions that spring to mind:
    -Is the length is ok?
    -Slim the arms abit?
-Some tapering? Mainly at the thigh/knee area
-Nip the waist more? or maybe its because I've been used to tightly fitted jackets...

Had to use flash - busy day today, didn't have any time to catch natural light

Really like the first's scarf, the second's tie, and the cap toe brogues. The outfits overall were great, but I'd love the deets on any/all of those, esp the houndstooth looking scarf.

    Classic.

I'd never wear it, but the tie looks very good on you. I think a navy-based PS might take that to the next level.

It seems way too short, Rome.

Suit fabric is too thin... :D Seriously, though, I think the yoke is too high.

Ian your questions are legit, but none of them is egregious IMO. I think this is nitpicking here.... The coat looks to be a touch long in relation to your trousers proportion. The upper and (presumably back) of arm looks a little loose and same for the pants... again maybe a touch roomy. Not sure about nipping the waist because it's clear you're a pretty solid guy.. I mean robust physique so you may need a little room depending on your drop and upper thigh/seat area. It's a little off from perfect yes, but I think a side and back pic would help.
I like that windowpane.. it looks great. Others can add what I may have missed.
