My favorite Holdfast suit? Check.
    My favorite Holdfast shirt? Check.

Excellently paired with a great tie and PS. You are the one on a roll lately. [IMG]

    Thanks! [IMG]

Re: the suit - I think it's probably now one of my oldest (certainly in the oldest handful), and went back under the tailor's scissors for some heavy surgery last year after my figure altered a fair bit from when I first got it. I love the fabric, but it's starting to show a the first hints of some shine in places now. Still holding up well overall though!

BTW, what make are your socks today? I love that pattern.

Steven Hitchcock Tweed with suede details
RTW yellow cords from Cordings of Piccadilly

These are really great. The fit of the jacket is splendid. I'm not totally in love with the shirt/tie combo for them.

    Can I play too?

I actually like this a fair bit. With those fairly heavy shoes, I feel you need a slightly wider leg opening to the trousers to balance them out.

Linen Challenge - linen odd vest and linen-and-leather spectators

Not feeling it, sorry. Leaving aside the shortish trouser, I'm thinking this would be a lot better with either the waistcoat or the specs, not both. Probably the specs should be the one to be kept.

    ...

Jacket is hilarious. For the right setting, it would be great. I can't think of many such settings. Summer party at a friend's home, or an evening with friends at a riverside pub, perhaps.

Weather was suprisingly warm and sunny today (so much for the forecast of cool and cloudy!), so here's a linen contest entry (trousers, and about half the tie):

I forgot it's contest day. This is just a regular fit for me. No linen.

p.s. I fixed my tie knot after photo.

Tie is great - would love to see you play around more with color, and some more daring stuff. It looks good on you.
Thanks. It's my favourite tie, actually... and today I wore glen plaid trousers - it doesn't get much more daring than that. [IMG]

[IMG] With this forum! I'm learning so much thanks senior members[IMG] !

Learning well, from what we can see.

    Hi Gents.
    Can I play too?

You too, though there is some weird crumpling at the quarters of your jacket?

... and this is how to wear a linen suit. There's actually quite a lot I could nitpick here, but as a whole it looks relaxed, comfortable and stylish - which is the point of linen as far as I'm concerned.

This is great... apart from the tie. A knit in a darker colour would have been perfect.

Well, I don't like knits all that much, but the principle of a darker tie for that look was definitely something I thought about, and initially I was going to wear a patterned navy silk. You're right in an abstract sense that it would have looked better... but it was such an unexpectedly lovely sunny day that I simply wanted to wear a "celebratory" lighter tie. Sometimes these things absolutely must take priority! [IMG]

Usually I'm all for dark ties, but I like your choice today, HF. It's nice with the pink shirt. Very cheerful.

Really like the blazer with the pearl (?) buttons, too.

    * I had a whole lot of "multi-quotes" to answer tonight, but I'm tired & need my Horlicks

Let me just say that your double four-in-hands are remarkable. They've changed the way I knot. At least the ties that can handle the DFIH. Cheers!

Congratulations, NYR! Your classes sound terrific, and thank goodness some people still recognize excellence. And good tailoring.

    Crusty, today's fit is great.

Merci, mon cher philosophe, and your posting reminds me that I should have congratulated NYR on his award - great job, RG!
New camera angle Crusty? It works. Over the fucking top as usual, but I like it.

Me? Over the top? However could you say that??? [IMG]

    ...

Cheers, Barima. I guess i would like both guys, too [IMG]

    ....

    +1!

    ....

Cheers, Spoo. I assumed you probably wouldn´t favor the cardy, but the shooz? [IMG] [IMG]

Very nice colourwork, Nii. The only thing i would have changed is the ps, it somehow doesn´t match with the rest (albeit it being great on it´s own).

    ...

    Great stuff, Butler.

    ...[/IMG]

You´re looking like the Magician of OZ...the watch, the tie, the suspenders, great stuff [IMG]

    ...

Great stuff, Org. If the trou were only a slightly bit longer or the leg opening a bit slimmer...

    ...

I definitely detest the upper half, but the shooz are great!

    ...

If you had worn a knit tie, this would have been stellar. Still, a great look.

    ...

Oh wow...you got balls!! I love your game, man, seriously. I would never wear that atrocious jacket, but you make it work.

I totally sucked today, contestwise and in any respect:
