Recently signed up as a member and this is the first day suited up since joining the forum. I'm looking for some feedback on this combo. I have some thoughts/questions and my wife had one specific complaint about it, but I'd like to get some feedback here without biasing it with my comments.

Any and all comments appreciated.

For context, I run a law firm in Chicago and was attending two "events" today: (1) a benefit for a non-profit I support and (2) a networking event with a group of lawyers.

Thanks!

To my eye, the collar just doesn't fit your neck. The tie space is too large, the sides of the collar should meet in a V. The points of the collar are also levitating off your chest. I also think the SF groupthink on (non-BD) collar points meeting your lapels is justified. It just looks cleaner.

I don't love the shirt and tie combo. They seem to be working at cross purposes.

This blazer is slightly frustrating for me. I love the fabric and the 3-patch style, but the cut seems slightly off for some reason. While it doesn't feel particularly loose around the middle, it seems to make me look stouter than normal. Maybe it's just more sacky than my other sacks, I don't know. I need to see if my tailor can give it a little more shape without making it too tight.

I have tried responding to other posts, but as a new member, my responses get held up in moderation (very difficult to hold a conversation that way), but I'll try again.

The shirt tie combo is what I was concerned about. To me, it is not a good fit stylistically. That said, I never have worn a patterned shirt before and this is pushy the "flashiness" scale for me - so I need to be pushed and maybe make a few "mistakes."

My wife's comment was is that she thinks the pocket square is too stark for this look. She suggested something softer and something that included the blue from the shirt/tie. I don't know whether or not I think the white is too much, but it is the only option in my closet.

I can definitely see what you mean about the collar, both the V and the points. Something to work on moving forward.

Dark & drizzly day, so wanted to brighten it up a bit with some warmer autumn colours. Counteracted somewhat by the tan raincoat the weather later required, mind you!

Shirt is pale cream, not white, before the fur starts flying about that choice. :)
