I met my wife during a gig a St George's, Montreal, she in the choir, me fluting. When we married, we asked for our buddy the chief organist to play the Widor for our recessional.

We all waited at the end of the nave just to hear him play. A real virtuoso. On a Casavant (rebuilt by Guibaut-Therrien for a cool million!), BTW.

What a gorgeous facade. And more so, what a charming story!
I think I may have peeked into St George's once. Is it on Stanley Street?

Sure is. Amazing place. Great choral/organ tradition.

Alden unstructured low tops. They're pretty similar to the chukkas everyone wears but in a lowtop version.

The desk is hardly a mess. Everything is carefully carelessly arranged to discreetly display the incredible wealth of this dude.

FANTASTIC!!! Absolutely beautiful!! I am currently on a committee for our church in studying and redesigning the interior space of the sanctuary to meet the needs of our worship services today and in the future as well as add in accessibility features to include ministers with disabilities. This could also involve moving the organ from the back balcony into a more prominent place. (organ was moved 50-60 years ago from front to back)...

Will keep you informed as we make progress.
