OOOOOOO!!! Nice fabric, Nice Suit, Nice shoes (and socks[IMG] ) Unless I'm seeing something incorrectly, I think the sleeves on the jacket could have been pattern-matched better.

Liking the top, but not those pants with the jacket.

    Great post, HF.
p.s. I am wearing a purple candy stripe shirt today. Is that respectable?

Thanks! Highly disreputable, of course. [IMG]

    [snip very well-reasoned screed]

Point well taken, and I'm in the same boat as some of our more exhuberant stylists: I work in academia, where conformity would push me more in the t-shirt-and-cargo-shorts direction. This gives me freedom to try to dress well but less restricted than someone who must wear a suit every day.

OK, cool, I guess i just went off on a tangent. I do that sometimes. [IMG]

A huge improvements from yesterdays risky try. A truly splendid combination!
    That color combo is just...amazing.

Very kind of you both, thanks. I wasn't altogether happy with the patterns, but the colours work I think.

By the way, Holdfast, thank you for the reference in your screed (I can only assume "to some extent" refers to the times when I do not dress for pleasure)

Yes. You occasionally modify your own style to meet a certain social aim. That is good, of course; we all need to achieve our other goals in life too.

Actually, I expanded my "screed" a little in my blog today, to take it further into that direction.

    For a rainy day...

Love the tie. What material/weave is it?

Broke out the new Sam Hober grenadine today. Ah, the texture!
It's not too short, by the way; it just looks that way 'cause it's blowin' in the wind.
The bag is a Slinger briefcase from Custom Hide.

Fudging a little on what day Labor Day is, but on a college campus I don't think anyone will notice. Apologize for the picture quality (one of these days I'll have a friend take a few for me).
