Saw these and passed due to some cracks around the toe but I'm still curious what they are... Would have been a fun clean up / resto project.

Anyone with a clue about these suede brogues? Nothing at all visible on the sock liner:

Thanks for the lightning fast reply. Went back to the same shop a few days ago and saw these (an audible wtf came from me upon inspection).

^ Probably not original soles. Looks like a precut sole that can be used for either size 9 or 10.

I know this isn't technically the correct thread for this, but anyone know what the story is with PRL purple labels like this one? It is on a nice POW french cuff shirt I found this weekend.

    Hello

Are these made by C&J or Alfred Sargent?

    Cheers

+1, that's what I'd say, since both the script and the heel pattern matches the Custom Grade loafers I have, but I'm not good at this. With advance apologies for the graininess, what are the chances that this "Made in England" label is enough to identify the maker of this Barney's overcoat? I've scoured the jacket and can find no other material or manufacture tags. [IMG][IMG]

^That 'Made in England' label is pretty generic on items of a certain age, I'm afraid. Charity shops up and down the United Kingdom will have items for sale carrying that tag on them.

The commonality of the tag doesn't make the item necessarily poorly-made, however. Usage of the tag seems to date from a time when RTW in the UK in general was of a higher overall quality than these days and you'll often find that these items have aged very well.
