    Hi twosaabs,
I have an identical pair by New & Lingwood about ten years old but still very good -probably a Northampton maker like Alfred Sargent - maybe try him on Twiiter?
    Hope this helps,
    Tim

There is a lot of mystery surrounding who makes what for who in Northampton - bit of a minefield I've always found. Keep delving I'd say. Best, Tim

Thank you, Tim, NickPollica and Onix.

The consensus seems to be Alfred Sargent. After posting the question and pictures, I searched further on the Web. I found a few miscellaneous posts, re. 'Bowen' Men's Shoes, Made in England - all confirmed AS.

As I mentioned in my post, I also picked up a pair of Trickers at the same moving sale. So far, I find the Trickers to be more comfortable. The Bowen/AS pair seem to have been hardly worn. I think the will need a good 'break-in.'

    Thanks, again!

Onix, the joy of taking part in these threads is enhanced by your expert eye - obviously an afficianado - I've always found that industry somewhat confusing.

Are these EG? The nail placement seems kinda funky.

The nails on my EGs are close to the edge. Those look like they were nailed in by EG jr.

The "Made in USA" used to be made by Hickey Freeman. Who makes the new stuff? I have a recent model 2-button jacket that passes the "pinch" test at the chest and below the 2nd button, so it's full canvassed. There's a free-floating layer of canvas in both spots.

    Cantarelli? Caruso? Corneliani?

Label for reference. Maybe someone recognizes it:

I believe this is the Belvest tag. Btw, all of these tag questions are in the wrong thread. I believe this is for shoes only.

    Thanks! Concurrence from others?

Might want to look at the first post. Plenty of suit labels in there.
