C, your thread has inspired me to finally enroll in a fly-fishing class. I start 8 April. I've tinkered with this majestic hobby since I was a child, but never had the training, nor the discipline to either appreciate the art nor perfect the technique. Thanks for the kick **********.

+1. If you enjoy running, being a member of a Hash House is great, as it allows you to catch up with other HHHs (Hash House Harriers) when you visit other countries. For some reason, it's very popular in Asia - I've gone on runs in Taiwan, Singapore and HK. Everyone gets together for a beer and a chat after the run, so it's not only (relatively) good for fitness but good for socialising, too.

But this will only work if you're crazy.

Probably a great way to get on a Homeland Security watch list.

Working out: martial arts and weightlifting (You'll meet primarily guys)

Dance classes. I'm learing ballroom dance and swing and I previously tried salsa, but didn't like the instructor (you'll primarily meet women, as you rotate to different dance partners).

Better yet, get multiple cats. Then you can watch them lick each other's asses!

theres nothing wrong with meeting other guys, actually its a great way to meet women later...you become friends with the dude, meet his gf, and become the nice guy we just met to her single friends...."Ambulance Chaser meet Ambulance Nurse, youre not gonna believe what you two have in common!"

It's a great way to get on a Homeland Security watch list if you're actually doing something illegal.

Absolutely not. I've made a number of friends at the gym, though they have yet to come through for me with the babes...
