I am trying to find a good suit jacket match for some dark gray pants with light gray'ish brown pinstripes, a very dark gray'ish brown dress shirt and a black light gray pattern tie, within my wardrobe. I will be wearing a black dress boot/belt combination. I have a black four-button jacket, black three-button jacket, dark gray/blue (barely)/light gray blur pattern zigzag two-button sport coat and a banker's gray three-button jacket. Which of these would look best or should I just go a little more casual and wear it without a jacket or tie and the top button of the shirt unbuttoned or perhaps no jacket and just the tie (I am going to church in this)? I am leaning towards the black four-button but I just do not know. Any advice would be appreciated.

I like the picture of the 4-button jacket, with no tie, and maybe a gray or brown pocket square.

seems like a lot of different patterns with little contrasting color...esp for the holiday season, I'd ditch the shirt/tie and go with the slacks, a black crewneck/turtleneck sweater/shirt and any of the sportcoats for a much better GQ, age appropriate look...

Yeah, I hope he went to church since then!

The Iraq war has been going on for years since this post. I hope the war is over when he gets his final acceptable answer.
