Moreover, tailors who do their job in old fashion way are limited and over 60's. I will opt for Baramon because they are less busy. AMHC is good because because they do not travel and take orders. Each tailor shop has their own rule to make a suit. If Baramon still remain their old way, it maybe the most work put into the suit. If I want italian style, I will go for Chan.

Yep, for some reason Yao charges even more, but if I need to choose between them, I will go for AMHC because they have more structured cut.

For those who prefer to rely on big HK names, I strongly encourage Baramon, CMT price is far cheaper and their cut is certainly better than the other two mentioned here. But note they are not flexible.

Could you elaborate on the above? How does their cut differ from AMHC?

If I am below 50 years old and I can afford, I will go to Chan. Chan use to cut a short and tight jacket which young men prefer., If budget is a matter, I will go to Peter Lee.

If I am over 50's, I will go to AMHC. AMHC service many high level government officials.

If I want a typical high quality Shanghai tailor, favours traditional style, I will go to Baramon, they put most work into the suit.

For me, I will go to Baramon.

Placed my CMT order today at AMHC and paid HKD 8500 which seems pretty reasonable. Will be back next week for a fitting.

Woo, excellent. I believe that is the price for two piece? I am sorry but the price I quote must have been the three-piece, which is my usual options. Sorry for those mis-guides.

A darkish navy sable and cashmere blend. Made in England, unbranded. Found it 4 years back at President Textiles in Sheung Wan.

A month ago, I went to President Textile (upstairs), they still have some vintage material but they ask too much price for them.

I'm not sure is the policy is country-wide or not, but I would check out Simpson Sin if I were you. They do tremendous work and probably wouldn't mind tailoring outside fabric. Not 100% sure, but I know a lot of people have had good experiences with them with absolutely no problems or hassle.
