while fellini's visuals and scores are better, ive havent been moved by his movies

That's a fair call, really. How about "˜La Strada'?

    Jack Clayton's The Innocents.

It has a beautifully written and subtle script (co-authored by Truman Capote).

Closet Land -- It's just two people, an interrigator (Alan Rickman) and a prisoner (don't remember). Great film.

these reminded me of a good russell crowe / jack thompson flick (i know, jack thompson was in 'breaker morant', not gallipoli - it's the sidefold hats!) called 'the sum of us'. very good, touching story for gay & straight....

    Ah, Breaker Morant! Great movie!

Couple of pages late, BMX Bandits starred Nicole Kidman, great fun.

Is this the haunted house movie from the 1960s? If so it definitely deserves a mention. Lots of sweet sexual undertones between the governess and her young male charge.

Haven't seen BMX Bandits, but Rad (starring Lori Loughlin) was awesome, and way underrated/unknown.

You've got Kurosawa, Kiarostami and Angelopoulos, good work. Interestingly, with Kurosawa, I prefer his non-samurai films. "˜High and Low', "˜Dersu Uzala' and "˜The Bad Sleep Well' are beyond brilliant.

Following by Christopher Nolan. Low budget, unknown cast but still his most brilliant movie.

Someone mentioned Old Boy. Not vey well known, but at least its greatness as been largely recognized.
I'm a Cyborg but that's ok instead hasn't received any bit of appreciation. It is hard to believe that in many countries it hasn't even been distributed yet.
