Clint Eastwood in Where Eagles Dare is also ridiculously awesome. But yeah, Eiger Sanction is one of my favs. Also, Brenda Venus's breasts are outstanding.

Agree with many of the posts in this thread and also decided to watch a few of the movies that I haven't seen from here and the what movies are you watching thread. Just finished "Where Eagles Dare" More of a Burton vehicle than an Eastwood one though. Also noticed MOL listed Papillon and thought it strange that anyone would think it underrated because I remember it as being very very good and assumed everyone thought the same way. So I did some googling and was interested to note how many awesome movies came out the same year (1973/74). American Graffiti, The Exorcist, A Touch of Class, Save the Tiger, Last Tango in Paris, The Last Detail, Serpico, The Sting, The Way We Were, The Paper Chase, Bang The Drum Slowly, Paper Moon, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, The Day of the Jackal, Electra Glide in Blue... and more. These days we're lucky to get one or a small handful of movies in this class each year. I bet that year wasn't even that special back in the day.
