I know we discused this somewhere:

I need to show a friend the highlights of Chicago - he likes the pinnacle - aside from Oak Street / N Mich, where should I take him?

Depends on what he wants to see and experience. Food, Shopping , Churches or Temples, ...

Maybe his trip can be at the same time as the AAAC event in Chicago this month

The Art Institute of Chicago, is wonderful. The Chicago Historical Society, too. The coachhouses, on the Gold Coast, are charming. In the vicinity of Scott Street. The Robie House, by Frank Lloyd Wright, on Woodlawn Avenue, is something to see. Marcello's, and Maggiano are good Italian restaurants. On Sundays, the Empire Room at the Palmer House, has a lovely brunch. All depends on what you want to do.
