With respect to BR boxers, you can pick up 4 for $20 at an outlet store. The quality of the cotton is pretty good, the designs are nice, if that matters. I don't know about them holding up for 5 years, but I think getting two-three years regular use/rotation out of them with lots of washing is fair enough. Only problem is with the last bunch I bought, the damn tags around the waist band were stiff, so I could feel it's presence around my waist - either making me itchy or poking me. That effect has subsided for the most part after several washings which have softened the sewn-in tags. It hasn't happened with any other boxers I have with tags (including an older set of BR boxers), so just be conscious that it could be a problem.

Don't wear boxers. I quit a few months ago, and let me tell you, freedom has taken on a whole new meaning for me.

Shoreman,

Thanks for the tip. I picked up a few pairs of these and loved them. Great patterns, nice cotton, great design, perfect for $16.

Nicer than my T&A's, almost as nice as my Borrellis (costing seven times as much). Nice to find a good product that will hopefully continue to be available, at a good price.

If you like fuller cut boxers, try Brooks Brothers. I've been wearing them since college. It's one of the few things they still do well. On sale they should be about $10.

I just picked up a pair of Handsome Smooths (www.handsomesmooths.com) and really like them. Kinda pricey for everyday skivvies at $25, but they are nice when it's warm and/or I'm slightly active. I guess they were designed for golfers.

calvin klein slim fit boxers are actually a good pickup on sale

i need to buy a bunch of boxer briefs... does anyone know any without a 'band' around the bottom of the leg opening, to create a more smooth silouhette?

Saks house brand boxers are quite nice, made in Italy. Last time I checked they were on sale for $6. I bought a few pairs.

i like the banana republic ones as well and i dig their fabric choices.

they have newer ones that are tagless which are pretty nice.

they are light weight tho and not going to last a long time. i'm fine with that.
