Hi,

I would like to buy for the first time quality jeans that I will like to wear and will last.

Jeans should match following properties:
  • Selvedge
  • Sanforized
  • Slim fit (not skinny)
  • More colors to buy
  • Possible to choose length of jeans
  • Possible to buy in EU
  • Reasonable price - good value for money (up to 200-250 EUR max)
I will be grateful for any recommendations. Thank you

You can check out Cultizm and Redcast Heritage. They have a lot of Japanese brands (and Naked and Famous too) that make excellent raw denim, particularly in your price range. I personally am a fan of Momotaro.

Burberry used to make jeans fitting your criteria though slightly above that price-point. This was before it very sadly devolved into an overpriced streetwear brand targeting trust-fund babies.

I'll put in a vote for GUSTIN. They are a crowd funded company that does pretty much everything, Japanese selvedge and US selvedge. I purchased a pair of their Japanese selvedge featherweight jeans that are fantastic. I reside where it is humid and hot and the jeans are great.

Probably a hot take but I think you get selvedge jeans to own selvedge jeans. They're not necessarily more durable. The difference is that they "patina" as they get worn out -- the rips and fading is the raison d'etre but you need to be going for that look to keep wearing them. Conventional menswear wisdom advises that torn/ripped jeans get replaced.

FWIW I have a pair of el cheapo Levi's 513 I bought from a JC Penny maybe 10-12 years ago and are still going strong, no rips or fraying. They are my only pair of jeans. The bit of stretch eases the stress points where a less giving fabric would eventually rip.

Second vote for Momotaro. My favorite for sanforized selvedge.
I also like N+F, but have found they don't fit me quite as well (I like Momotaro's rise better on many of their cuts).
