As I was writing, I was thinking there wasn't much structure to the back of my jackets...see line about me being a moron.

last I heard he was working on canvassing the back of the jacket as part of his super high end line of clothing to rival the best from Naples.

Alas, poor Glennie, that has already been done. Along with a traditional dress-making service, the haute couture houses in Paris offer bespoke tailoring for women. The girlies like cloths so light that it is impossible to get them to tailor properly (thus confirming my suspicions about light super cloths being girlie cloths) so they have to canvas the entire back panels (with herringbone stitching across the upper shoulders) and upper sleeves! Personally, I think all of these modern light super clothes should be tailored the same way.
