I lost a lot of weight recently and decided to buy some new suits instead of walking around looking like a clown. I picked up a few suits on sale at Saks 5th Ave one of which was a Hickey Freeman (basic charcoal gray pinstripe). The MSRP was $1,495 and was marked down to $400 and some change. I asked the salesman if the suit was an HF mainline or if it was a Ltd. or "Hickey." He responded that Saks only carries mainline suits and not any "off brands." I assumed it was one of the Mahogany models because it really did not appear to be a Sterling. Keep in mind that I could not read the wording on the sleeve tag because it was obscured by layers of stickers. The tag sewn in below the inner right breast pocket simply stated "Hickey Freeman." Taking the salesman's word, I bought the suit. Later, out of curiosity, I peeled back the stickers on the sleeve tag just enough to read the word "Lindsey". I had never come across or heard of a Lindsey model or collection, believing that Mahogany and Sterling were the only collections currently being manufactured. This was Saks, not an outlet or off Saks store. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this brand or construction? Could the Lindsey be a label for Saks? Online research did not reveal a definitive answer. I apologize in advance if this subject has been asked/answered on the forum, as I did not find it.

I know this is an old thread, but this line has received very little attention on the forum. For those interested, I should like to add that I purchased a Hickey Freeman Lindsey model suit from NM's last Call last week for $400. The description on Last Call's website omits the model name, but once the suit arrived, I was able to locate the model name on the inside of the jacket. At first, I liked the suit. It fit me quite well (It features a fuller, more traditional cut, which suits my shoulders and chest). I took the suit to my tailor this week. He and I both agreed that the material is very nice. The wool has a soft, rather luxurious feel and has a nice, natural stretch to it. So then my tailor opened up the jacket and turned it inside out.. and it was completely fused. No canvas whatsoever. I will be returning the suit, as I now feel I overpaid for fused construction. $250-300 would have been acceptable to me, but not $400 (not to mention tailoring would have been another $85 for hemming, bringing in sides of jacket, and lowering collar slightly).

@Bagick , great post. Finding this helped me avoid a possibly unfortunate purchase. Cheers.
