I just bought a Hickey Freeman Edwards model that is made for Bergdorf Goodman. The salesperson told me that this is one of their top models and has a lot of handwork (which, as it appears to me, it does). Has anyone heard of the Edwards model of Hickey Freeman and know anything about the quality? As far as looks, it looks great on me. [IMG]

Yeah -- it is their current model for their "Hand Tailored" line. The Hand Tailored line's quality is superb -- at least as good as Zegna Napoli Couture in my opinion (and, if I recall, the Edwards shoulder bears some resemblence to ZNC). I have a Rochester model that was made as a sample for Bergdorf; the Rochester model is a bit differently stylistically, and because mine was a sample it may have some additional handwork. The fabric on my suit is heavy so it is hard to tell for sure if the lapels are hand-padded, but I think that they are. Still, among other things on the suit were: Very delicate pick stitching (hand, not machine), double sided buttonholes like Oxxford (but a bit finer thread used), split back trouser waist, hand sewn armholes, hand set lining, hand sewn collar, and pick stitching at the trouser fly and pockets.

Awesome. To my eye it looks really nice. There seems to be a lot of handwork on it. It also says "Hickey-Freeman Hand-Tailored" on the label. It is definitely fully canvassed and fits me like a glove. I got it for $800, but the saleperson said that it retails for over $2000. I am definitely very happy with it. It also comes with the sleeve buttons separately so that my tailor can make them functional buttons.

That's a good purchase - wear it in good health.

I got a HF Hand Tailored suit from FB a while ago and love it - beautifully made!
