Hickey Freedman jacket

So I purchased this on impulse, NWOT Hickey Freeman jacket for Bergdorf Goodman ($47) and could use some suggestions. I personally am thinking that this need to be paired exclusively with solids. I don't think that the tie works well with it. Its not a cut I have any experience with either. Maybe blue shirt, white linen pants? Or maybe it dies a quiet death in the back of the closet. I think its cotton. If you can point me to any "What Are You Wearing Right Now" or other pictures that would make me feel better, I'd be much appreciative. Maybe it'll grow on me.
