This might be rehash of other threads here, but if I understand correctly:

1. Hickey Freeman is now owned by Samuelsohn
2. HSM is owned by Authentic Brands
3. HF, from what I understand here, is of better quality construction than HSM. Is there much of a difference in overall cut?
4. HF has "Mahogany Collection" on their website, under which there are "A" and "B" lines. Is this any different from the lines sold at, for example, Nordstrom? I only ask because Nordstrom's website gives no mention of this.

Thanks in advance.

When HMX Group (the former parent company) went through bankruptcy, Authentic Brands Group bought both the HF and HSM intellectual property (brands). W Diamond Group was formed of the manufacturing arm of the former HMX, and owned the HF and HSM factories. WDG licensed the brands from ABG.

WDG recently sold the HF factory to Samuelsohn, and Samuelsohn assumed the license for the HF brand.

The Mahogany collection is fully canvassed and the Sterling is half canvas. The A body is a fuller cut than the B body and reflect the fit, not the make. The C body is even trimmer but has limited distribution. Other bodies are also available, generally developed based on a retailer's specifications.

The HSM make is half canvas and is somewhat similar to the HF Sterling make.

HF A body is similar to the HSM Chicago body
HF B body is similar to the HSM New York body
HF C body is a little fuller and longer than the HSM Los Angeles body

Thanks so much. I have a 12" drop from chest to waist, 37" sleeve, and 34 1/2" inseam, so suffice to say, it's next to impossible to buy off the rack. I have been looking at HF and HSM from a distance before I go and spend a lot of time in a store, it's good to know the background and the parameters.
