Hi, I am looking to buy some Heschung boots at thecorner or mrporter and wanted to know if anyone on this site has bought a Heschung and if so how did you size the shoe compared to your brannock size.

if anyone has a shoe/boot from Heschung size UK8 or UK 9 what is the insole length? that seems to be my best method to get true length

I have scoured the web and cannot find any details that helps me decide.

all the best and thanks

LA GUY - thanks for the reply

I should know your Barrie size and Viberg size as I have been following the forums great Viberg makeups, but been a long week already so i can't recall

What barrie or trubalance size are you?

I am an 8.5 in Barrie and Trubalance. 9 in Johnston Murphy and Allen Edmonds, 8.5 in Wolverine 1k. All in D width

Any comparisons you can make to help dial in the size for me is much appreciated.

thanks again

I wear 7.5D Barrie, 7.5E Aberdeen and Vass, 8D on the Brannock (actually, between D and E).

I've purchased two Heschungs: the Tyroleans co-labelled with Yuketen; and some Ateliers Heschung suede Algonquin's with white work soles. The Tyroleans fit exactly like barries (size down 1/2 from your Brannock). The Ateliers Heschung Alonguqin's were really long and a little narrow--even sized down 1/2 they were still 1/2 size too long. So quite a different fit from the Tyroleans.

You should be sure you can return any that you might buy without trying them on. Cool shoes, strange fitting.

Man, I'm about to give up. I have a pair of the Zermatts that fit rather well, but long, which is expected from Heschung. I've been trying to find a pair of Lothiers that fit my foot, but there seems to be way too much volume in the boot. I typically wear a US10-10.5, but 9.5D in Alden's Barrie last, and a 9.5 in the Zermatts. I've sized down to 9 in the Lothiers, and everything still fits big except for the width of the ball of the foot. The facings (eyelet tabs) on the right boot, which seems to feel larger than the left) go all askew when I lace the boot. From what I understand, this is either a defect, or the shoe is just too voluminous for my feet. It's also hard to wrap my head around the fact that Heschungs have open facings like a derby, but seem to be meant to meet in the middle like an oxford.

Ok, so I fixed the volume issue by inserting my custom orthotics. They fit really well now.

Yeah, Heschung fits can be confusing. For me, to large, as in, not too long, but too much volume, is fine with me. I never lace up my shoes unless I am going to walk a ways - ijust don't like anything that feels constrictive, but I understand that some people like a rather snug fit. The Apaches are also, incredibly voluminous. I have a pair of size 9UK (I am usually a 9.5 UK, except in gunboat lasts like the trickers 4444, in which I am a 9), and these things are way more roomy. I really like some of the styles, though, so I persist, even though every year there is at least one model that is a complete crapshoot. Never tried on the Lotheirs. I think that @Synthese did though, and he might be able to comment.

I like the Lothiers a lot. It's just that the sizing was so confusing. What do you guys think of the issue with the facings (eyelet tabs)? The ones on the left boot look fine, but the ones on the right boot are all askew.

So, my question is, do you see that only when the boots are on your feet, or when you lace them up treed? The reason I ask is that shape of the foot and the ankle warps this, and everyone's feet are somewhat asymmetric, and the distance between the edge and the first eyelet looks pretty similar.

It seems to be less pronounced when they are on the trees. Maybe it's just something that will straighten itself out once I start breaking them in. It's the first time I've ever seen it happen with a pair of shoes, but they're also the roomiest shoes I've owned. I'm really looking forward to wearing both my Lothiers and Zermatts this winter.
