The best answer is both !

If you are wearing a standard washable mask, you are protecting others. If they wear some too, it's OK; if they don't you are not protected.

If you are wearing a really protective mask (usually disposable ones, and to be precise N95 or FFP2 models), you are protecting other and yourself, even if you are in contact with someone who doesn't wear a mask and could be infected.

So if everyone wore masks it would be better ?

btw when I had my anti flu injection I was told that because a lot of people do wear masks and people are not socialising as much they dont expect so many people to catch flu this year.....some good news.

Yes of course !

The N95 & FFP2 (best protection)

I only wear one of those when i take the public transports here.
The virus situation is very bad in Paris at the moment.

You have probably seen that there is a new Uniqlo X J+ collection.
The only thing that looks really interesting to me is the military inspired CWU-45/MA-1 hybrid down flight jacket. The material seems to be very good (i recently wrote about an UU MA-1 i have for a few years, of great quality IMO).

^ I can't tell as the collection will be released next week :-D !
Anyway, i won't be able to try one on, as the shops are closed here because of the new lockdown.
Probably it sizes big, as it's called the "+J Down Oversized Ribbed Blouson", furthermore seeing the Lookbook pictures...
I would probably size down if i intended to buy one.

I understand the "hybrid" nature of this garment won't appeal to all !
I quite like the weird double collar though (probably keeps you very warm). A long time since Uniqlo didn't do a collab with J+, in the past their items were great quality.

Hard for me to get past the synthetics. Just picked up the wool chore coat from De Bonne Facture in Paris. Will try for a pic later this week. NMWA just started stocking the brand.

I'd been meaning to post a pic to go with a post I made back (holy!) in June. But since March, I've been work -- and pretty much everything else -- from home. The few times I've gone out, it's mostly been in old Levis jeans, older US-made Russell sweatshirts, unlined Alden LHS's, or Vans. As I mentioned then, it's pretty plain, and contemporary enough, but swap the Aldens for Bean camp mocs, a hat or two, and this has been me since in the 80s.:

The green sweatshirt above is a Land's End Serious Sweat. I may get another in gray. In the 90s, I had a great coral pink Life is Good sweatshirt with just a small logo embroidered on the chest. I thought I'd left it at my parent's house, but I couldn't find it there. Must have given to a brother or former girlfriend.

@JohnAAG and @Oneflewover, I'm with you guys on the preference for harringtons with self cuffs rather than knit cuffs. Luxire made me a nice red one that was inspired by James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause. It's made of Epic by Nextec and has a two-way front zip and pit zips for ventilation while bike riding. And for travel, it has a large inner pocket for a book and a small zippered pocket for change, etc.
I always loved sweatshirts, and have a few basic ones by Hanes, Jerzees, and Fred Perry. Your post reminded me that a few months ago i saw a LVC one in a shop that was nice. I checked their Internet website, and it was still available (at 40% off)...
I Clicked... and Collected (still allowed during the lockdown)... Et voilà !

The new +J bombers look nice, Clouseau. I see the cuff style is reminiscent of older Issey Miyake designs, I assume the ex-creative director of IM is still working at Uniqlo. I like that they swapped the gaudy chrome zippers to colour-matched injected plastic as well. It was one of the big issues I had with my UU16 MA-1.

Yes i thought they would appeal to you R. Sure you can incorporate them into your look.
i quite agree about the gaudy UU16 MA1 chrome zippers, i don't mind to much though.
BTW it's good to have you here (and now) !
