Bargain there! Good stuff. I prefer the pre-Lavori G9’s— better cut for me.

Took a CM pic for the Styleforum affiliate challenge. Sport coat from The Armoury by Ring Jacket. Just got it tailored and love it. The Armoury Model 3 is the only RJ that actually fits me so far. Tie from New & Lingwood, Zegna linen pants, linen dress socks from the Armoury with C&J Harvards in suede. Sunglasses are Eyevan.

Now back to shorts and a linen shirt!

Hot weather shoes ...
20200716_200026-1.jpg

The part about 'here and now' is this ... as a country toddler, I saw old peasants wear lace-up braided shoes on summer Sunday mornings, to attend the Mass and then duly splurge some money at bar.
They were essentially fresh for the feet. My parents, I must say, quite disliked them and I grew up thinking they were a no-no.
Fifty years after I found these shoes on sale at Herring Shoes and decided to give them a try.
Well, I have to say they are comfortable, cool (in many senses) and, in their 'elongated double monk' take, even smart.
My mamma, of course, doesn't know I have them ...

Back into summer gear now. Picked up this Big Blue Japan shirt from NMWA. I've definitely spent more money during Covid lockdown than before.

Today's find... After trying some more expensive Khakis, i finally bought the Uniqlo "Regular Vintage fit Chino trousers". The rise is decent (looks good on me, and higher that you could expect seeing this picture), the material and cut are nice. Not too slim nor baggy.
Another purchase that won't break the bank, they were marked down much below their original price to €9,90 !

Chinos, what are they cotton trousers or cotton jeans?
Should they be pressed with a crease or ironed flat?
How smart can they be worn ? with a Blazer, shirt and tie ?
When could you wear them and when should you definitely not wear them ?

That's just my personal take, but:
- cotton trousers
- flat
- blazer and shirt is fine, I'd avoid tie though
- not while being awarded Nobel prize of for a tea at Buckingham Palace (I'm assuming that a pleb like me would never go further than a tea ...)

Cotton trousers
Flat
Blazer and Button Down shirt (without a tie for me)
I only wear Chinos late Spring and summer.
Would never wear them for a formal occasion.

I usually wear them with a BD shirt or a polo, a trucker Jacket or a natural shoulder jacket.
