Hi All,

I'm new to these forums, but have been lurking here for some time. Just this past week, my wife purchased for me a leather briefcase from Henry Tomkins (which was the direct result of all the time I spent on these forums). The bag looks great, and I was very much looking forward to using it. However, I noticed a small blemish right above the first compartment. Now, in the grand scheme of things, this is not a big deal, but I do find myself peeved at the mark. I've reached out to Henry and it doesn't seem that he's willing to make any alterations to the bag.

Given that many of you have much more experience with these things than I, I wanted to ask if you would find these marks to be acceptable. Henry did mention that these types of marks were likely to accumulate over time as the briefcase was used, but it wasn't something I was expecting new out of the box. Thanks, your input is appreciated.

It looks perfectly fine. You are going to have worse scratches or stains after a week or two of using the bag.

Beautiful bag, use it in good health.

Thanks Jake, appreciate the input. This is my first leather bag so it's helpful to have an outside perspective.

That is the type of mark you may get on your very first day using the bag. Use and enjoy the bag.

I don't believe this to be acceptable, but like others have noted, the bag is likely to get scuffs through regular use either way.
