Something a bit different. I was wandering what the thoughts might be towards these Henry Duarte Jeans???... Would you wear them???... Thoughts on the lace-up fly???... Opinions needed.

IIRC, Duarte was one of the guys who started Chrome Hearts, or at least he worked for them for several years. I think that he went out on his own around 2000 and had a shop near Le Dome on Sunset. The jeans were very, very expensive and he also did a lot of leather. I remember my wife thinking about buying a jacket of theirs, but she decided not to do so for some reason that I cannot remember.

Overall, the quality of the work, especially the silverword, seemed very nice, but it is definitely for somebody who appreciates that particular style. I have not seen them recently and don't know if the product is the same anymore.

For some reason I truly respect Carpe Diem/LMaltieri/Linea and their offshoots but Chrome Hearts just doesn't cut it.

I think back in its hey-dey, Chrome Hearts was pretty great and very unusual. Of course, that was 20-something years ago.

Kind of like my feelings on car shoes: environment appropriate. If you play in a metal/rock band, go for it; they're outrageous, and will match a stage personality. Otherwise... no. Just... no. They'd make a normal person look skeezy. The bad kind of skeezy.

Match the stage personality of a slutty, white-trash girl?

You could be a rock star and wear them.... but other rock stars would probably beat you up, even emo bands and the Dashboard Confessional guys

Seriously though, how would you take a leak? Are you going to take 15 minutes to unlace your fly? Would you pull your pants down around your thighs? Maybe Henry Duarte followed K-Mart's fine example and started fitting their jeans with an elastic waistband?
