its still high 80's here (31 C), I'm just wearing crew tees and jeans (sometimes cargo shorts) but wanted to upgrade to some nicer v-necks or henleys

what do you guys prefer wearing on a hot day?

Henleys are cool but I've realized they are fads. Vnecks and polos are timeless

A polo shirt could be the best choice. Because 1) it offers more sun protection (typically it's sunny when very hot) and 2) it usually fits looser at the neck and often below, allowing more air flow. But all that can be negated if the fabric is warmer than those of other shirt types.

By the way, deep-v tees also are a fad.
