Hey.

I've got a bunch of polos in assorted colors that I want to get the "best value" out of and wear into the fall/winter. What do you guys think of wearing a waffle knit henley (cream or white) under a polo (dark purple, blue, pink, most any color)? I'd most likely pair this with jeans. I get the feeling that I lean more towards "preppy" than most on this forum, but what looks good, looks good.

Thanks,
R.

Short or long sleeve? I think a whole expanse of brightly-coloured shirt looks out of place in fall/winter - much better under something. As for the darker polos, I can vaguely imagine that the thick weaves of the polo and waffle knit might not work together, or the two buttoned v-necks will be too much, but I'm just speculating. The only way to really know is to try it and post some pics (even camera phone in the changeroom) if you're still not sure.

I have tried this, and I personally think it can work very, very well (If I had pics of it I would post) - I like how the buttons work with an open collar - I think it works a bit better with subdued tones, but im sure its possible with brighter/contrasty colors

Definitely.

I just think that the fits have to be good. Not too loose. Err on the side of form-fitting.
