I've noticed a preponderance of infinite drivel among the threads here, most of them offer little advice or insight to style. For example, I was hoping that we'll get a fine leather accessories thread going in perpetuity but most these threads have been long dead. Even the ones I endowed with resurrection through my recent post showed no continued interest. Is the legacy of this forum build by more distinguished men now but a hollow shell of dusty glory?

Could you give us some samples of "infinite drivel"?

Maybe this community finds your endowed resurrection uninteresting and does not wish to encourage you by responding to your posts?

Maaaan, you created such an erudite image for yourself and then ruined it all by writing "build" instead of "built." So close.

The thing about these kinds of posts is that you guys always think you are the first ones to notice this stuff and, therefore, are doing some sort of public service by calling it out. You aren't; we know what the forum is. If you don't like the vibe, perhaps another forum would a better fit and more worthy of your "endowment."

I think this guys actually has a good point. I mean, all this digression and stuff really distract from the intention of the forum.

Stop talking about blue fresco blazers and let's hear all about Kunk's stories.

i find the off topic banter on this board annoying too
i would blame it in dumb threads but looking at old threads proves that it has been this way forever
it is just part of the pub-like atmosphere of the board
take it or leave it

There are two sides to every story. When I first joined I thought that some of the topics discussed in threads were highly byzantian. However after spending some time in here I think that this is because most regular users of the forum have a very decent base knowledge of sartorial matters and thus can discuss more detailed and somewhat irrelevant matters. I guess a parallel could be drawn to pairing food and wine. You are asking if it would be better to have a merlot or cabernet with a dish. People here are discussing what merlot to drink. Also you must take into account that this is not a style guidance paid service but a place where clothing entuthiasts can have some fun.

Here's some advice and insight on style. If you need advice or insight to style, then you don't have it. Move on.

Hey Odor,

I think the OP (Ameripan) is an illegal immigrant so you should be more helpful instead of being a dick.

I suggest the two of you go sort this out and leave the rest of us to our hollow shell of dusty glory. But thank you, most sincerely, for your input.

"Hollow shell of dusty glory" sounds more like another forum familiar to many of us.
