thanks for the quick reply. I want to know if that particular navy suit would be appropiate for my wedding or should I stick with a black tuxedo?

Tuxedos are evening wear, so not appropriate for weddings. Ignore what Americans do.

Navy solid, eh? You are off to a good start. Based on that premise, I recommend 2BNL (side vent preferred), white FC point collar shirt (heavy starch), subdued cuff-links, wedding tie, navy socks, very shiny black captoe oxfords, PS, boutonniere (NOT a pinned on corsage), monogrammed linen hankie in inside jacket pocket to give to a damsel in distress, cotton hankie trousers back pocket for your own utility. I do not recommend you match any color element of your outfit to that of the bride. Evening semi-formal/black tie is for evening and some observers feel this mode of dress is inappropriate for a church, anyway. Ignore what the British do. Ignore what the Yankees do. Ignore all but Orsini. Make sure the waistband, bottom of tie does not show -- that looks dreadful. Use suspenders, hight-rise trousers, and proper button stance to prevent this.

I'm fairly new to all these terms and abbrv. I really have no idea what some of those items you're referring to. Can you link me to a glossary of all the terms as I can't seem to find it in the pinned threads. Thank you for the help.

The Indochino suit is slim and has narrow lapels, and the jacket is slightly short, so the suit is decidedly in line with current trends (not sure if that's a plus or a minus in your book). In terms of harmony and proportions, this suit would look better a slim build, and it might look off on more portly figures. A navy suit is certainly better than a tuxedo. Grey would be a more traditional colour for a wedding suit. Do not get cuffed trousers for your wedding suit, under any circumstances. Maybe get a wedding tie (light grey, various designs -- try a search on the forum). I can't comment on that manufacturer's quality. It's really hard to say much else without seeing the suit on you.

The Charcoal 3pc would be more appropriate.

Yes, it is more appropriate, both in colour and style (the waistcoat makes it more formal, and it also reminds us of formal day wear--morning suit/coat, i.e. tails, usually grey, always worn with a waistcoat underneath--which would have been the old school stuff to wear at a wedding). It's also worth pointing out that those suits seem a little tight on the models on the website. Again, that's a trend, so it's up to you whether you want to follow it or not. But as a rule of thumb the cloth shouldn't pull at the sides when the front button is fastened, and the lapels shouldn't stick out from the chest. Consider those points when you try it on.

Forgot to add: unlike the model in the photo, do not fasten the bottom button of the waistcoat. You may think it's silly, but it's one of those conventions that make you fit in among people who are knowledgeable about clothes. Wanna know where this came from? Well once upon a time there was a chubby Prince of Wales...

Tuxedos are formal wear and appropriate for formal occasions like weddings. Certain styles are for evening wear only but not all of them.

If you are getting married in Vietnam, is there a reason you do not want to use one of the local tailors? Going by past threads Dung Tailors or Cao Minh seem to have been discussed multiple times.
