I know this is a men's forum but I only trust clothing advice from you guys
plus i have no idea about womens fashion

Trying to get the girlfriend a warm jacket/coat for christmas since she doesn't have one
She owns 2 northface jackets and jackets/coats that are made from cheap stuff
She likes stuff from topman/tobi/forever21/nasty gal
She's 22 and she probably won't appreciate any of the higher end stuff.
I want to get her something versatile, not anything formal or too flashy. something she can wear with jeans and also wear to the bars when she wears a dress
My budget is $500, another hope for this item is for her to realize "wow this is so much better than the stuff i own"
what brands or where should i look?

Any help would be appreciated!

In terms of style... Or warmth?

Warmth and practicality, LL bean makes some nice things and their return policy is amazing. It's not super high end but they have a nice selection of things filled with down or lined with fleece, flannel, sherpa, etc
