Hello guys, I have just bought a new duffle coat from Original Montgomery. Everything is great except for the sleeves, which are too short for my monkey arms like everything else. I am about to bring this coat to my tailor, but he lives pretty far from where I am (about 3 hours) so I'd like to know you guys' opinions first before I make the effort of traveling. Do you think the sleeves are short beyond repair or could they be long enough after lengthening? Should I return the coat or should I go to the tailor? Please let me know!

Please excuse my bad quality photos and the laundry room background.
Here's my arm in relaxed position.

The coat is very short in the arms. I can't imagine a tailor being able to fix that. I would return the coat and look for another brand with longer arms.

Thank you. I was stubborn so I brought it to my tailor anyways and asked him to show me the fit and if I should keep it or not. Apparently the shoulder was too wide and there was too much excess fabric as well. His mirror showed everything so I decided the coat wasn't worth it and sent it back.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
