Hi, I'm trying to get 2 new pairs of prescription glasses, one for everyday use and one pair with a polarised coating for sunny days.

I ordered a home trial, and I'm not really sure, so some opinions would be great.

I was thinking this pair for every day use:

And this pair as sunglasses (maybe in tortoiseshell?):

The bottom pair looks a bit wide, at least from your pictures here. Also, I would suggest the half fram for you because you don't have a very strong or wide bottom of the face, and the bottom of the full frame looks, to me, to be rather disproportionate,

Yeah I am not sure what the interest of the thicker frames are and agreed you have to go with what matches your face. I agree with LA Guy's assessment.

I got a pair of Lindberg and they are rimless and hardly noticeable. Love them!! and I only have one pair. Not sure what your budget is Whimmy but I got mine off eBay. Why not just get one pair that you really like instead of two? Having many pairs of glasses is cool until you need to change your prescription.

Personally I think thick rim glasses remind me of Mr Peabody and Sherman, of course you are probably too young to know who that is Whimmy : )

Okay, thanks guys! I decided to purchase the first pair, and also decided to get the same style in tortoiseskin with polarised lenses, as I was lacking some sunglasses. Probably a bit weird to have matching glasses and sunglasses, but oh well, I'll see.

@Markboots - Yeah, getting a more expensive pair I really like probably would've been better fashionwise, but the store offered 2 for 1 and I really wanted prescription sunglasses. Maybe in a few more years, I guess, when I have a bit more money to spare.

No worries. I do all my shopping online and huge fan of eBay. Great way to get want you want without the high prices. Of course there is a trade off not being to try them on in the store. I should clarify that I also have one pair of prescription glasses and one glasses. I was thinking you were buying two pairs of regular wear glasses (my bad). I agree that having one of each is essential. I don't like transitions so agree with your choice!
