Help with baggy RRLs

Hi there,
I just bought my first pair of raw jeans off ebay (double rl slim bootcut 34x32) and im really liking the denim but theyre sagging loose everywhere.
After measuring the waist (36.5) i see they run quite large so i should have found a 32 instead, which i guess would have narrower thighs/legs, or are RRLs meant to be generously cut this way?
I understand that these are sanforized so shrinking will be
minimal, and you normally stretch the denim first then later
shrink to the original state, but since theres no chance of
stretching, I was wondering if a soak would do anything to get
a tighter fit or if the yarns are already compacted too much?

Appreciate any advice.

The bootcut actually is supposed to fit tighter around the thighs/waist than the slimcut RRL's. Washing these will do nothing noticeable in terms of shrinking. Put these back up for sale and get ACTUAL measurements from the seller on your next purchase. There are different generations of RRL's, some with sizing likes yours, others spot on.

Yeah, this is what cmf said but I like the sound of my own text.

I think there are different cuts of the slim boot cut as well. I've had 3 pairs one size 35 that actually measured out to like a 37 or something riduclous and was baggy as **** all over. They fit pretty much the way the ones you have on in that picture fit except maybe worse. A pair of 32/34 slim boot cuts that measured to a 34 inch waist yet were still kinda loose in the theighs. and lastly a size 34 that measured to a 34.5ish waist (true to size im guessing since they're pretty low rise) are much much slimmer overall in the theighs/knee than the others. They're all the made in japan models. So i think your best bet is to get full waist/theigh/knee/hem measurements before ordering in order to get an idea. rather than relying on tagged size or even on measured waist size.

much thanks, i value all of your replies.
i ordered some nudies and the overall fit is way more what im looking for. i went with the SSDS in 32x30 and obviously sized down too much.
do you think a 33 or 34 would be noticibly larger in the thighs/buttocks than a 32? i notice the back pocket folds over, which cant be good. i hear ralfs would be a little looser in that region but i dont want a bigger leg opening..

tossing on a belt and doing some squats might stretch it out. Nudies selvage denim has a track record of being pretty stretchy. I'd be kinda hesistant to size up in that cut though unless you're looking for a much looser leg.

Those don't look especially tight to me. Its kinda weird, from the rear the thighs look pretty tight but from the front they look pretty loose.

Those shots are pretty misleading. The front-forward shot shows a lot of looseness in the thighs/knees where as it looks skin-tight from back-forward.

I'm guessing you're a 34. Like smw said, these things are going to stretch out. I'm not sure what look you have in mind, but if you size up any higher you'll be wearing parachute pants . I'd stick with the pair you have and break them in around the house for a few days or if you don't feel comfortable doing that, go RR and get the openings brought in a little at a tailor.

You werent kidding about the stretching, gained over an inch in the waist after 20 minutes of wear, some nice whiskers coming in already. theyre still ball crushers though. i think my natural waist is around 35 right now, ive been losing weight but i dont think ill get much smaller than this because muscle is replacing the fat.

I think they look pretty good now, hopefully they'll only get better. the stance really changes with shoes and being fully buttoned, thats probably why the last picture was weird, i could only get two buttons closed at first.

The length is perfect. im not used to the low rise but i like it. i could wear slimmer calves but then it might look disproportionate to my upper body.

I'd like to get a few pairs going to help preserve the deep color. im intrigued by sugarcane denim.. would the 45 or 47 cut fit my style/body well? i.e. straight leg/slight taper/large thighs/midsection. im thinking RB11s might also fit the bill? maybe some samurais?

They do look like they could be slimmed a bit around the shins, but then you'd pay around the leg openings. Perhaps they're a touch long right now and if that's the case, some folding behind the knees will improve the look/fit. Otherwise, I think you've got a great fit going.

Im actually kind of amazed at how much the fit of those svens transformed literally overnight.
