Hi everyone, I just took delivery of my Allen Edmonds MacNeil 2.0's yesterday, in Walnut. The shoes in general are very beautiful and well made (albeit not as well made as my Cordovan Leeds
A few issues I have with the shoes:
1. Walnut is a little lighter in colour than I expected, and also has a bit of a yellow/orange tinge (I read some reviews of this online, but never had the chance to see it in person until yesterday) I still like the colour of the shoes, but would prefer it slightly darker (as I expect it would get with a natural patina) I've put a few coats of Saphir Renovateur to speed up the process.
- I would really appreciate if anyone has any pictures of Walnut's with Patina (natural or otherwise) over years of use.
2. The shoe is ever so slightly too large for me. This is an international order, and I wouldn't bother sending it back because i'm not even sure if a smaller size/width will fit better. Anyway, i've already worn the shoes a couple of times so the option is out the window. Is there anyway to make it fit slightly tighter, e.g. putting an insole on the footbed? If so, is there any recommendation of a good insole?
Thanks for the help everybody~
