Oddly they are both pretty much the same size, except the 40L is 1.4 inches longer.

Any advice?

Button stance on the second one looks better (ie, bottom button level with top of pocket, rather than below it which looks a bit old-manish imo). Breast pocket on second one also looks better positioned (ie, not so far above the pockets), but that might just be the photo
