Hi Everyone,

I am a new member here.
And I would like to ask for some suggestions.
I already have JLP woodcote in deep blue, Berluti Fil dAriane Evade Oxford in blue gredients.
And I would like buy 2 G&G recently, one is G&G Hove DG70 in vintage oak.
But I cannot make the decision in G&G Carlyle or Grant, both are DG70?
Any suggestion between them?
I would like to buy a black one, or any suggest deep color, racing green?

Holy smokes! Coloured shoes. You are a man after my own heart.
Pictures please. Love to see your blue JLP and Berluti.
You need to be a 'dandy' as Marc Guyot puts it to wear green shoes.

Actually it's really difficult for me to translate my blog...sorry...
Truly speaking, JLP's hand-work and leather is really better than Berluti.
But the gradient blue color of Berluti is so addicted to me.

Any suggestion about G&G's shoes style and color?
Carlyle is single monk and Grant is whole cut.
It's really hard to decide for me.

If you love gradient blue or the patina look of the Berlutis, next time you are in Paris, check out Corthay. Check out JLP, John Lobb Paris and CJ Paris, both of which are loved in this forum too. Make a few bespoke pairs and paste the pictures on this forum. Your stock will rise tremendously here.

As for G & G. Got a pair. Not terribly impressed. Sorry, can't help you there.

I don't particularly care for the G&G monkstraps, but the wholecut is lovely. As for colors, I particularly like the vintage cherry and the racing green. As it's an MTO, you can specify the degree of antiquing.

Dear medtech_expat,

I really loved the color that looks like black but not black.
I am also very interested in racing green, do you have any picture about it?
Since I only see it at Bespoke England, but it's not clear to me.
By the way, what option I can decide with a G&G MTO?

Sounds like you would want a very dark aubergine, which unfortunately G&G doesn't appear to offer. So far I only have one pair (Burlington), and other than the level of antiquing I'm not sure about other available options. I would suggest sending an email to Nick, who is very responsive and a pleasure to deal with.

If you like a bit of colour, how about the Carlyle in racing green suede, it will pass for black in the evenings but come out really nicely during daytime. Fox suede or vintage maple are otherwise nice materials for the Carlyle. I think monks do really well in suede (if you are looking for a more casual shoe).

With the Grant I'm going to say Black Calf or Vintage Rioja, call me old fashioned. Maybe black stingray if you want to go crazy.

DG70 is a good choice for both models!

Thanks for your suggestion.
I will not take suede since the weather is humid at my place and it's hard to take care of it.
I am really curious about the color, racing green.
Is it a color very deep that it's hard to notice it is green?

Otherwise, I found gable and hanly is also attractive to me.
I will also consider about it.
It is so default to choose...><
