Hey,

Co-worker gave me grief today for wearing a black/white PoW suit with dark brown suede single buckle Monkstraps (EG for RLPL). Good look I think.

I seem to recall a picture of the Prince of Wales from the 30's similarly attired.

Any picture links of a respected source that shows this attire?

Thanks.

So your defense is "but royalty looked good wearing this 81 years ago" ... ?

I don't doubt it, but if he gave you crap about a POW suit and monkstraps you were wearing at the time, is showing him a vintage 1930s photo of a Royal going to ameliorate or aggravate the situation?

Wait for a few more responses, print this thread, tell him you asked a bunch of guys on the internet to get your back, and leave it on his desk. That'll teach him. *shakes fist*

They didn't invent color until 1954, so his shoes were really just a shade of gray. Probably someone photoshopped the picture to be brown later, to make it look more modern.

Not a "bad" look, but suede monks + POW is pretty conspicuous/loud/anti-conservative business dress.

What your co-worker typically wears himself may tell you a lot about why he disapproved.
To be nice, I would suggest he is probably unaware of combo possibilities you enjoy every day. He simply lacks skills.
Should he continue to disapprove. send him here with photos of his own outfits and we shall see what we shall see.

I have one of mine, but I'm not a prince and probably not a respected source either.
