I'm having trouble finding a good quality black dress pant that tapers to an averagely-skinny hem.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

If it helps, I'm looking for a 34 waist and 32 inseam, and they're to go between the sportcoat and shoes below.

Dockers D1. And I'm kind of a brand whore. But these pants fit skinny guys too well to go unmentioned.

Great chinos, off the top of your head, do they do a dress pant too in that fit? (Pardon my ignorance, we don't get the same commercial scope here in NZ...)

Well, my definition of a dress pant is looser than many on here, but yes, I consider some of their pants acceptable as dress pants. They've got some herringbone and stripe patterns, the darker colors work better, the straight black never-iron pair I have maintain a sharp crease and look great w/ dress shoes and a tie.
