I found my old high school letterman jacket tucked away in the back of my closet. Unfortunately, the white sleeves were made of vinyl - not leather - and now it has a strange slimy coating on it. I am guessing that maybe the solvents from the dry cleaners reacted badly with it.
I'd love to wear the jacket again but not with the greasy slimy coating on the sleeves. Does anyone on this board have an idea about what to do? If unresolvable, I am considering taking to a tailor and have him replace the white vinyl sleeves with leather ones.
