Help on sizing on Pierre Corthay shoes

OK so I am thinking of getting my hands on a pair of Pierre Corthay shoes.

But before I do, I need to know from the high rollers here who buy Corthays:

Are their sizes for their RTW shoes comparable to other shoe brands of the same size?
I mean some shoes brands have sizes that can be a bit big or small compared to the rest.
So are their sizes accurate?

Appreciate your help. Thanks!

My experience is with the Arca, which runs a bit small. I normally wear Italian size 40 (Vass) and British size 7 (G&G, EG depending on the last, JL), ideally in a narrow or D-width last (like Vass U). My Arcas in British 7 fit comfortably nice and snug in the width but, by day's end, pinch in the toes. A half size larger might have solved the toe-pinch problem but would have been too wide in RTW. If you have normal feet, then I would guess that a half-size larger than normal British sizing would fit best. That's just a guess.

BTW, aside from the toe pinch after my feet have swelled during the day, I love the Arcas. They are beautiful and a distinctively French break from British and Italian styles. I probably receive more compliments on them than any other shoe I own. For better or worse, many of those come from people asking whether the shoes are Berlutis. I look forward to getting another style from Corthay at some point in the next year.

Thanks! Dont think the model is Arca but it has the typical Corthay slim long silhouette.

BTW just got my hands on a pair of Berluti. Starting to regret it based on the comments here especially since it aint' one of the fancy Berlutis with the bells and whistles. Hmm.

BTW Italian 41 should tally with UK 7 and US 8 I believe.

Hmm, I have been wearing UK 7, which I take it as Italian 41 for many brands.
No excess space at the heel and the edge of the shoes.
In any event, some people propose that excess space is better so your toes wont keep ramming the front of the shoes.

This can be confusing as we dont know whether 7 on the shoe is US or UK sizing. So I guess we just depend on the fit.

I tried on the Arca recently, EG 9,5E UK (606,202 & 888, granted narrower) Arca 10.
Must admit the shoes where not quite as interesting as pictured. But think a MTO pair may remedy that, just need to get to Paris.

MTO will be the best but unlike the high rollers here, I don't think I want to spend 2 to 3 k or more on a pair of shoes even if its a Corthay.

Add at least one size to your UK size in Corthay and one and a half if you have a wide foot.

It also may depend on what last you are getting; I need a different size on last 001 v. last 002.

Exactly the sizing I followed...I wear a 9.5/10 in EG and went with a 10 in the Arca. Very snug (which I like) and they broke in really well.

I am really starting to like the Cocteau in a bronzed green...

Could be the next Corthay for me.

+1. My Corthay size is true to my US size.

Can anyone confirm that Corthay only uses one sizing system, i.e. if I buy a size 7.5 from a US merchant, I would need the same size if buying through a European merchant? Thanks.

My Corthays also ran true to size but just a touch tight in the tox box that broke in perfectly. They are as comfortable as they are stylish. Re sizing - my shoes (all purchased at Bergdorf Goodman here in the good old USA) have only their U.S. size marking on them (there is a small 10 carved into the sole by the heel). The box also only had the "American" size on it. Since they run true to size you should have no trouble converting to the corresponding European size if necessary. Not only do I get many compliments but I have found that my tailors are more precise/careful when it comes to hemming my pants as they appreciate the quality of the shoe as well.
