Help on choosing a navy sportcoat/blazer

I'm looking for a navy blazer but online it's so hard to see the actual colors and textures of them. I will be wearing it both casually and to dress up, so what material should I be looking for?
I like the look of the Stripe Twill Ludlow by J.Crew, but is it less versatile because of the stripes?
Should I just buy 2, one to wear when dressing up, then also something really casual like the BDG Shrunken Blazer (castle rock looks nice)?
Thanks to anyone that can help!

There are many here who are much more qualified than I to answer your question. But yes, stripes will make your blazer less versatile. I'm guessing you'll want a harder finish, like a worsted rather than flannel, so you can wear it in warmer weather. It'll be a trick to get a length that works with jeans (on the shorter end) and with slacks (long enough to cover your butt).

Browse through the WAYW and "Your spring/summer looks" as well as the Sartorialist and Non-Sartorialist looks for inspiration. That'll kill a whole bunch of time for you.

Go online, by all means. I recently picked up an all cashmere number for a quarter of
the price of the identical garment I tried on last summer in one of San Francisco's most
exclusive shops.
