Hello everyone,

Well, Ive finally managed to understand the benefits of japanese denim (raw and one-washed).

Most of my post college life I've worn diesel and true religion (im 28) and as of late ive been removing those jeans from my wardrobe and buying nudies. But now I want to make the move to sugar cane and flat head but I am a bit uneasy about the high front rises on these jeans and the rather narrow leg openings.

Has anyone hear gone from a virtual low rise jean at 9.5 inches to a high rise at 12 inches or above? How did that transition work for you?

I DO NOT like the tapered leg, I am partial to the boot cut and the straight leg provided it is loose enough. I tend to tuck shirts (except polos and t-shirts) as I believe no man should ever wear a long sleeve shirt with a collar untucked.

Bottom line, will the high rise be a world of difference in the way I feel and wear my clothes? Looking to hear from people with this experience. Thanks.

Perhaps choose a FlatHead model with a low or mid rise like the FH-SuFu collaboration jeans? That might be a good "transition" pair and you'll still get the amazing quality.

These are sold out at SelfEdge but you might be able to find a pair on the buy/sell threads

I use to wear Paper Denim / Earnest Sewn. Then I got a pair of Nudies RR (pretty much a boot cut). From there I got a pair of Oni which is a higher rise and now I'm on a pair of Flathead 3003 which are hella high. You get use to it after awhile with the higher rise. When I wear my Nudies it feels like my pants are falling down b/c they feel so low on the hips. You can jus wear all of your clothes shorter to compensate for the high jeans
