Yet another reason not listen to 99% of personal trainers. Nobody will ever make a significant change to their body by walking. You've got to be kidding me...He's not a 300lb 50 year old woman with bad knees. He wants to build muscle and drop some fat-and your rec is for him to walk. Do you have a mail order cert?

My gf's brother is a personal trainer. Dude is huge, and very smart about it all.

I'd like to see him and Eason in a weightlifting comp. (no ****)

There are a few certs out there that are pretty legit, but most trainers at your local gym don't have them. Even these certs are pretty worthless. Building a great body isn't rocket science, there's no secret or complicated process that you need to pay someone to teach you-despite the fact that the entire personal training industry is built on this myth.

Working out, lifting, or loosing weight is 95% mental anyway :p If you can master your mind the exercises are not going to be a problem.

I could change those words around to fit any service industry.

+1

I was kicking myself the last time I had my car worked on. $260 to have a new windshield wiper motor installed on a hyundai?

People have been making money on other peoples' ignorance/laziness since the dawn of time.

Yikes, I am out of shape. Almost barfed all over the recumbent bike today.

I did a mile on the treadmill (6.5 speed I think) and felt really tight. Stretched, then did about 10 mins. on the bike. I was feeling sick at this point so I took a break to cool down. Went on the weights afterwards, then called it a day.

I feel good though. Looking forward to doing this again tomorrow.

I'm not sure whether to encourage or ridicule you.

OK I'll go with option #1 for now: Good job Conne. Remember you're only young once and getting/staying in shape will never be easier than it is right now. You can always be fat and lazy when you are older if you decide it suits you.

a mile at 6.5 is not bad. Just keep it manageable and keep increasing. good luck

Are cheat meals OK? I've been eating a lot of lean protein & greens this past week but would like to do at least one to two "crappy meals" per week to keep me sane (a Chipotle burrito, couple slices of pizza, etc.).
