Alright I need a little help narrowing down which type of shoe I'm about to buy, so I really appreciate any input I can get. I generally wear a lot of basic oxford shirts and prep-school style and vintage americana / workwear inspired shirts like this:

with this belt

and slim / straight dry denim like this

actually many of my jeans are a bit slimmer than that. i also wear them pretty long so there is a bit of stacking now, another thing is my feet are big, so with the slim and stacked jeans, i think i need a slim and low profile shoe / boot as well. so, what do u guys think? boat shoes or topsiders like these:

traditional style desert boots like these:

common projects desert boots with sneaker soles:
CPboot.jpg
or maybe some slightly more stylish boots like these:

also, i live in a place where it is warm year round and the dress code is almost always casual... thank you!

Clarks desert boots (not the ones you pictured) or Alden chukkas if you have the dough. Quoddy bluchers from South Willard instead of boat shoes.

Considering it's August now I probably wouldn't buy the boat shoes unless you aren't worried about the money. Depending on where you are, you will probably only have another month or two to wear them until you need to get another pair of shoes for Winter.

They are Rachel Comey. I like the look but no idea of the quality. I'd love to hear if anyone owns a pair...

Out of all the choices, I pick the desert boots or the "stylish" boot.

yeah i agree.

someone suggested NDC as well. what about something like these:

also, about the trousers suggestion, i do wear them but not nearly as often as the jeans. it's just a personal preference. and to me the shirts i posted are upscale casual but don't qualify as dress shirts exactly. either way, the question is the same. which shoes???

With your preppy/American style I think a classic desert boot is a good way to go. They are very comfortable. They break in well and get a nice worn look to them. The mix perfectly with your favorite clothes.

I would avoid the querkie fashion versions and go with a Clarks or something similar.

If I were loaded I'd buy the CP desert boot chukkas.

But since I am poor(er) Vans chukkas are what I will suggest instead.
